Niemann to carry two-shot lead into round three at fog-affected DLF

The second round of the International Series India, sponsored by DLF, concluded this afternoon with Joaquin Niemann from Chile maintaining his lead. Niemann shot a four-under-par 68 yesterday, putting him at six-under overall, two strokes ahead of American Ollie Schniederjans and Japan's Kazuki Higa.

American MJ Maguire was the closest competitor today, also shooting a 68 to tie for second place. Travis Smyth from Australia finished with a 69, placing him one stroke behind along with Filipino Justin Quiban and Guatemala's Jose Toledo, who recorded the best round of the week with a score of 66.

First-round leader Eugenio Chacarra from Spain scored a 74 and is now two under, alongside Chase Koepka from the U.S. and Thailand’s Danthai Boonma. Chacarra notably made an albatross on the par-five eighth hole.

Play will resume with a shotgun start at 3:30 PM local time due to persistent fog causing delays. This is the first shotgun start in the International Series, although it has occurred in previous Asian Tour events.

American Bryson DeChambeau is currently one under after carding a 72 on Friday. The halfway cut was set at eight over, which is four strokes shy of the highest cut ever recorded. Notable players missing out on the next rounds include Americans John Catlin and Andy Ogletree, both former winners of the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
